When someone has a lapse in coverage of 63 days or more AND they're trying to purchase insurance in the individual market. Employer based plans that are continuous don't affect anyone who has a health condition. Oh, and you have to live in a state that is eligible to let insurance companies to claim a health status waiver from the Feds
I won't be affected at all. If you are a young person who will be getting a job with health benefits soon, and you have a preexisting condition, you will not be affected.
