Did you read my comment? I had ONLY seen the very first news report on this incident.
I spent the last 24 hours monitoring the situation along the Current River where I have many friends and family affected by the flooding.
The fact the Chief is know adjusting his story is a testament to all the media wanting an immediate briefing on an incident as it is actively being investigated....just like they did in Ferguson.
Only the Chief in Ferguson was still playing by the old rules in place before there was social media and did not want to make a statement which would be wrong or possibly affect the active investigation.
This Chief DID offer up a statement in order to get in front of this in incident and now is changing the story as the evidence unfolds, making him look incompetent.
So what is it? Hold back and be accused of steamrolling the media and giving the investigation a "tune up"?
Or go to press with inaccurate information and be accused of lying when, in fact, all the evidence is still unfolding?
