I'm a big fan of the novel by Neil Gaiman. This mini-series on Starz is clearly an effort to capture the Game of Thrones crowd.
It was well-done- very darkly filmed. The gore was almost cartoonish- gouts of fake blood every five minutes it seemed. One sexy time scene that got creepy fast.
As a whole, I liked it and will watch next week. It was pretty close to the book. Mr. Wednesday was awesome as was the leprechaun fight. Shadow Moon is well cast, as well. Brooding bad ass.
My wife, who has not read the book, thought it was meh.
