So Blue Cross Blue Shield denied my MRI, $1800.00

So this is what I did:
1. Called BCBS and asked them to speak with a HIPPA Officer. (by Fed law, they have to have one)
2. I also asked for the NAMES as well as CREDENTIALS of every person at BCBS that has access to my records that made the decision by denial. By Federal law, you have a RIGHT to that info.
3. Since BCBS did not want to assist me with this, they turned around and paid my claim.
Bottom line, rather than admit the the committee is made up of low paid HS grads looking at "criteria words" to make a decision to deny your claim instead of having a board certified doctor make that decision (very rare).
Also make it clear that any refusal of claims will be reported to the US Office of Civil Rights. (OCR.gov) as a HIPPA violation. Don't take sh*t from these **********s.
