If your 4.5% is correct, it's not about that 4.5%. It's about everyone else, who buys stuff that depends on minimum wage labor. All of that "stuff" will rise in price as a result of rising labor costs. Thus, a rise in minimum wage amounts to a real decrease in wages for most others.
THat, and will result in less hiring of minimum wage employees by employers.
