Got to a campsite in a National Park early well ahead of our Scout troop. It was a group campsite and those used to be reserved for church, Scout, or educational groups but when the NPS went to on-line reservations it was impossible to filter others out.
This "organized group" had left our campsite totally trashed complete with numerous beer cans in thr fire pit.
Another Ranger I had worked with years before wanted to cite a person via mail regarding leaving a campsite like that but the US Distric Attorney said he wouldn't file on it. Instead the Ranger, who had collected all the trash from the campsite as evidence, mailed it to the person who had been registered to the campsite.
