the defenses neglected during Carter's term. Deregulation was not the cause of the recessions. In the 90s it was the tech bubble and in 2008 it was caused by too much regulation. Clinton and the Democrats weaponized the Community Reinvestment Act to force mortgage lenders to lend money to "poor" people who could not afford to repay them. That caused the housing bubble and led to a lot of shell games to shift risk to someone else. When enough mortgages failed the whole system went bust and the Democrats and their BM News lackeys blamed "Wall Street."
It is unreasonable to expect Reagan, or any other president to veto every bill he didn't like 100% that passed Congress. It's really a cheap shot. And it is unreasonable to give the Democrats a pass just because he didn't veto everything they pushed at him. Reagan did veto 78 bills during his term. Nine were overridden including a spending bill in 1982.
