Crestwood Mall here didn't die because of racial issues - it just died because of lack of interest and I suppose, the rise of internet shopping. On the other hand, I'd say St. Louis Centre and Northwest Plaza certainly suffered from the perception that you were more likely to encounter a criminal than a bargain.
