Regarding hemp, there is the great story of a Rolling Stone reporter hanging out for a bit with Willie Nelson who fires up a joint and with that knowing smile hands it to the guy who reports that after about two hits was incapable of speaking for the next few hours and he would see Willie looking over at him with this smile. "Gotcha". Talk about some good weed, I bet Willie is your man.

Unfortunately with the Dead, cocaine entered their world in the 80's and wreaked a lot of damage. Joan Baez did a project with them and when asked if she wanted to work w/ them again shook her head and said "you have no idea the drugs that surround those people". Tough lot, those cats, hard working too.
