I'm not shocked that you are shocked. Parents are paying attention. That's spelled p a r e n t s. They do the sane thing most of the time, and that is protect their child's interest.

For the delusional, there is nothing to be considered but wins and losses. The world is bigger than that, and parents realize that. And they adjust their sights based on real world considerations, as compared to the fantasy land narrative that only wins and losses matter.
