continuing his education, instead of playing against paid professionals and losing out on the opportunity to play with his father as a coach and maybe his brother on the team this year or next.

He is making a conscious choice about how to live his life. He is happy with his choice. He is not complaining about how the pie is cut, but is thankful he gets to feast here.

What is the value of the education, the privilege of playing for amateur titles, playing for and with family? Have you calculated that? What is the value of not having to treat his pleasure as work, and suffer the grind of a professional regular season, and then potentially the playoffs straight out of high school?
