Surely you understand the difference between someone's spoken plans (i.e. his word) versus his unknown deeply felt values. How this amounts to a contradiction is beyond me. Maybe you could explain this nuance?
You also say: "And of course he knows that Trump really wants war."
Well, yeah. He writes this article on the heels of Trump making war with Syria. This wasn't all that bold of a statement.
