If that was an act of war, then we are at war. Now, today, as we speak.
Clearly we are not at war.
The action we took could lead to war. No question. It depends on how the syrians and others react. And it depends on us not screwing this up.
Some will say i am quibbling and i am seeing a distinction without a difference. I see this was an aggressive military action designed to stop the slaughter of innocents. If the slaughter stops, or actions will stop.
Military action to prevent death...maybe to prevent war.
Obama's weakness in light of horrible actions by assad were the cause of the recent chemical attack. Weakness is provocative.
I would argue that obama's lack of a firm response, even after promising (bluffing) one, caused the deaths of those children.
I would further argue that trump's decisive action was designed to and hopefully will, save the lives of other innocents in the future.
We shall see.
