there's only so much room there.

when there was 850K people there, they were just a bunch of immigrant bumpkins living 8 people to a 2 room duplex/quadplex.

when the 2010 census numbers came out, they were disappointed that the numbers still went down despite the increase in people moving into hot areas like the grove and certain lofts downtown.

The problem was, people were converting those duplex homes into single family complexes so the "square area population" went down despite perceived emmigration
