Cancelling CPP will not cost miners those jobs. That is also a fact.
Automation (etc) will cost SOME of the jobs that Trump saved by killing the CPP. That is also a fact.
That same automation (etc) would cost SOME of the remaining jobs had the CPP rules gone into effect.
What would result in fewer coal jobs:
1) Kill the CPP and lose some jobs to automation.
or
2) Keep the CPP and lose jobs due to the combination of the job killing rules AND losing additional jobs that remained to automation.
My guess (and that's all it is)... is that killing CPP while losing some jobs to automation, (and NG, renewables etc) will result in more coal jobs.... just as Trump said.
