How much do you think alzheimers/dimentia care costs?

My grandmother was sick for 10 years with alzheimers and it cost my grandfather (beyond his insurance) about $500k. And she was cared for in Farmington, MO... not Orange County.

Lets pretend that insurance didnt cover a dime. Thats still 50k per year (it was more).

Edit to add:
"The average cost of providing care for someone with Alzheimer's is nearly $60,000 a year. A private room in a nursing home costs more than $82,000 per year, on average. An assisted living community for a resident with dementia runs about $55,000 per year."
