We were told that all the team needed to win was "a real coach". We not only get "a real coach", but the top recruit, and maybe more players as well.
The new coach, we were told, would have turned all of those close losses, 6 of them, into wins. Now we get a great new talent, and suddenly we are told we shouldn't expect a 20 win minimum?
Just get a big in the middle, was the mantra of quite a few. Well, at 6'10, he may lack an inch or two, but he's got the athleticism to more than make up for any size issue. Could he use some extra muscle? Of course. He's still a young man. But let's not play this he isn't ready to carry this team card. Of course the expectation is to make the NCAA. That's the floor.
