and if you had a brain you would know full well that DT never said Mexico was going to write a check payable to the US Treasury. You're dumb if you interpret his statement that way.

and if you had a brain you would know DT has spelled out how Mexico is going to pay for it.

#1 no illegal alien can transfer money out via Western Union wire, etc unless they can first establish they are here lawfully.

Mex receives about 24billion/yr in remittances. what % is from illegals. not sure anyone knows but it doesn't take a big stretch of imagination to know that a large % is from illegals.

#2 telling mexico that if you do want to hand us a check for X amount (not specified) then some of the other terms are negotiable

#3 leveling the tarif playing field. free trade is great. mexico doesn't practice it.

#4 cancelling visas

#4 or raising Visa fees

whether or not some or all of those will be implemented is open to negotiation. whether or not some or all or none of those will work is open to interpretation and opinion.

whether a not a border wall, regardless of who pays, would be cheaper in the long term then unfettered immigration and the welfare/criminal justice costs that imposes is also open to rational debate
