- Porter jr is clearly letting his dad/parents handle the recruiting process. He didn't even know how to process the release request for his LOI or how that process worked.
- so when he said "I hadn't even heard his name..." what he likely means is "I hadn't heard his name as an option in my recruiting." I would think that given he's been following the UW program for the last year and UW is in the same conference as Cal that Porter at least knows who Martin is, but....
- he's still very much a kid who does very little but work on his basketball game for hours a day. He's back to being homeschooled. He only plays basketball at Nathan Hale. Despite all his travel, he's still a very sheltered unworldly kid.
