and energy into areas that he could actually get something done. All of the political bs and wanting under the table crap from Floyd Irons and company probably made Norm said screw it. Recruiting is sales. If someone is pushing you to do something you don't feel is right or you don't have a high probability of closure then you go elsewhere and find other prospects.

Not making excuses for Norm as he was stubborn and probably was at fault as well but back then the area was messy when it came to dealing with Onion, Tuna, Demetrious etc. If he could get players elsewhere I don't blame him.
