Apparently Norm brought in some players from St. Louis who didn't believe they had to work hard in order to earn playing time. That didn't work in Norm's system, so they rode the bench and eventually left, bad-mouthing Norm and calling him a racist. My "source" (who happens to be one of the best players ever to wear the black and gold) said Norm was in no way a racist, but didn't coddle any players, black or white.
I've talked with other black players who played for Norm and they all love the guy. And I'll take their word over the haters in St. Louis any day.
