years old when he started at MU. And then he missed the first semester going to a prep school, joined the team mid-season after like 2 practices.

I think if he would have simply redshirted his freshman year, then had a productive 5th year senior season after aligning with his age group, he would be remembered much differently. As you point out, there was simply too much hype for his instant impact that never materialized.
