Brown returned to the lineup Saturday after being sidelined for nearly a week and delivered his best game as a Santa Cruz Warrior.
The Oakland native, who joined the club on March 8, provided a game-high 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting off the bench in Santa Cruz’s win against visiting Texas. He was 4 of 5 from 3-point range.
“I feel pretty good,” Brown, who added five rebounds and five assists in the win, told reporters after the game. “I got a rhythm going early and I just tried to ride that throughout the game.”
Brown, who was college roommates with starting point guard Phil Pressey at the University of Missouri, said he’s comfortable with the Warriors. Hill said Brown’s transition into the team’s system, which caters to his style of play, has been seamless.
“I’ve been careful not to run too many of our, like, super high-level ball movement sets while he’s out there, especially right now,” Hill said of Brown, whose seen action in just four games. “He’s comfortable in the type of actions that we’re running for him. And, you know, I think playing in front of these people, it’s fun. And he’s been good. This was by far his most efficient game.”
