What you can look forward to with Cuonzo

Cal fan here. Cuonzo is a good guy and sometimes great recruiter but overall pretty mediocre game coach. For that reason the reaction of most Cal fans is that we are pretty okay with him leaving and that your school over paid substantially for him. There's a sense that its okay; nobody is very upset that he left. Anyway, what can you look forward to?

First, the positives. CM will recruit some highly regarded players. Your team will play very good defense. You won't get blown out very often. CM will be a stand up guy.

But there are negatives.
- Get used to having two 7' players with limited athleticism and even worse offensive skills on the roster at all times. CM believes in having at least one of these guys on the court at all times to protect the rim.
- Expect to see slower paced games where your team almost never forces pace; you won't have fast breaks unless they are gifted to you by the other team.
- The offense will looked oddly unstructured except that if you slow it down you'll see there is some structure. This is because CM believes that the skilled players should have room to play their games. Sounds good but in reality you end up with an offense that relies on a few players to make plays instead of having an offense that does anything to create shots. CM's offenses S U C K. Plan and simple.
- You will see a trend where CM's teams blow big leads late.
