Nor any of the other U.S. Attorneys, Presidents have done such sweeping removals before.
What makes Preet Bharara, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York so notable was how good he was at his job. He oversaw the prosecution for corruption of over a dozen lawmakers. Both Republicans and Democrats. For someone that promised to "drain the swamp", you'd think a prosecutor like Mr. Bharara would be a valuable ally.
Sadly, people don't trust appointees from across party lines. Perhaps that should change.
