What he actually said: "Senator Franken, I'm not aware of any of those activities. I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I didn't have — and I have communications with the Russians, and I'm unable to comment on it."
Notice he nods as he affirms he has communications with the Russians. Although the Trump haters are all claiming he denied having communications with the Russians, if you listen closely, it is apparent that that is not what he said. It's just what the liars want him to have said.
