Odom beat decent to good teams last year and improved toward the end of the season. Was very competitive with traditionally strong teams. Anderson teams just got worse to the point where it was obvious they had mentally given up. They didn't believe they could win. Anderson didn't believe they could win.
Sure, the first half of the football season was chaotically bad...but I think that was Odom figuring out how to be a head coach and being distracted by how incredibly bad the defensive leadership was.
He made tough decisions a little over half way through that changed things almost instantly.
That tells me he's not too stubborn to make adjustments. Remember how everyone complained that Pinkel was too stubborn to make adjustments? We do what we do? If Pinkel had a season like Odom's first year, we wouldn't have beaten Vandy and Arkansas at the end of the season because he would've stuck with his Day 1 game plan to the end.
