Franken's question was very much campaign focused, and he was trying to establish a continuing exchange between campaign surrogates and Russia. Sessions obviously said he has been referred to as a surrogate to the campaign a couple of times and as such never had contact with Russia in that regard, nor was he aware of others doing it.
