That was based on the expectation that Puryear would be our best player. He struggled more than expected this year. It started in Italy and continued throughout the year.
Phillips didn't pick up where he left off until SEC play.
So, two guys were productive as freshman, struggled for most (Puryear) or part (Phillips) of the year.
When two starters struggled, of course predictions fall short.
