for finishing either 3rd or 4th in the conference and getting the double bye in the SEC Tournament. Here are the current standings with 2 games to go for the contenders for the top 4 spots:

13-1 Miss State
12-2 South Carolina
10-4 Kentucky
9-5 TAMU
9-5 Mizzou
8-6 Tennessee

LSU and Auburn have taken themselves out of contention with bad losses over the last few weeks.

Miss State and SC are going to finish 1-2 in some order. But both have tough finishing schedules this week, Miss State is @ Kentucky and gets Tennessee at home; SC is @ TAMU and gets Kentucky at home.

We have by far the easiest finishing schedule of the 4 teams fighting for 3rd and 4th place. Here they are:

Kentucky: Miss State, @ South Carolina
TAMU: South Carolina, @ Ole Miss
Mizzou: Ole Miss, @ Alabama
Tennessee: Florida, @ Miss State

I'm assuming we handle Ole Miss at home, TAMU beats Ole Miss on the road, and Tennessee beats Florida at home, all three are heavily favored, although any road game in the conference is potentially dangerous. If that happens:

Mizzou will finish no worse than 10-6, depending on our final game @ Alabama, and could still finish 11-5.

TAMU will finish no worse than 10-6, and could finish 11-5, if they beat SC at home, which is possible. They very nearly beat Miss State at home yesterday.

Kentucky will finish no worse than 10-6, and could also finish 11-5 or even 12-4, but they have the toughest schedule with both SC and Miss State. I don't think they have the talent to win @ SC, but they could beat Miss State at home. So I see them finishing either 11-5 or 10-6.

Tennessee will finish no worse than 9-7, and could finish 10-6, if they win at Miss State, a tall order, but doable. They have the talent. They already won @ SC, which is way more impressive than us beating SC at home.

It is not unreasonable for 3 or even all 4 of these teams to finish 10-6 in the SEC, and then it will come down to tiebreakers for the double bye. We win the tiebreaker against TAMU and lose it against Tennessee. We split against Kentucky so don't know what the next tiebreaker would be. And I dont know how the tiebreakers work if 3 or 4 teams finish tied.
