Well one thing has certainly changed...

Our pitching staff is pretty much one of the worst in the SEC conference, in large part because EE recruited 3 highly touted pitchers to carry Mizzou into the post-Chelsea Thomas era, and each one of those 3 got to the point, sooner than later, that they couldn't stomach playing another season for EE and Mizzou. It took Stangel a single season, it took Lowary 2 seasons, and it took Finicane 3 seasons. But all of them came to the same conclusion. I'm not laying blame at anyone. Just stating facts. Each situation was a little different, and each situation is not simple, but complex. But the result was the same.

Our pitching staff is in seriously bad shape compared to the elite teams in the SEC and the nation. Beggars can't be choosers. I would hope we made a play for Kessler this year. She could have provided us with a quality ace, which is seriously lacking. The idea that the adults in charge couldn't deal with any potential character concerns with a 21 yr old girl is laughable. I would at least hope we tried.
