that must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt to get a conviction? No.

Any fact that is introduced in a court case is subject to the rules of evidence, one of which is being relevant and having probative value. If a suspect is seen running from a crime scene both his presence and the fact that he is running away is evidence that would be presented in a trial.
