at any level ever. They would have been considerably more successful if the players simply coached themselves. We still played an actual D1 schedule back then, you can't just roll the ball on the court and expect success. It takes effort and gameplanning and practice time and rotations and player development and dead ball coaching and offensive sets/design, etc.
