It is unclear why we are there at all now. It is pretty easy to agree with Trump that we should maybe never have ever taken over there to begin with, because how do you ever get out once you insert yourself as the primary structure of stability in the country?

Those people are self-destructive savages that rely on tribal systems and extremist beliefs and there is no way to create stability there unless you are committed to staying there with a significant presence. The cost of that is too high.
