While I am not all that concerned about these seven states if it were a real emergency we would need to act quickly. Waiting for it to work through the legislative and judicial branches could have devastating consequences in many cases.
Do those of you cheering realize the consequences of this? If the FBI finds out about a terror threat coming out of Mali, just for example, but do not know the whos and whys under this ruling the president could do nothing to stop flights from that country from coming to America.
There are obvious reasons the president has very wide latitude when it comes to immigration issues. This neuters those powers. For that reason it will be struck down even if it goes to a divided SC.
