the raid on Bin Laden. They had essentially zero idea who was in the compound. Even the team chosen was political. With little intel Delta Force should have had control of the raid (they operate better with little intel), but SEAL team 6 was chosen based off the SOCOM commander being a former SEAL. They were extremely lucky to get the results they had especially with a helicopter crash and an army base literally blocks away. Risky missions are approved all the time.
