and it comes off as desperation.
All I'm saying is you have to be careful if you do that. There are some people who masquerade as fans of schools competing for the same recruits and intentionally try to annoy them. For example, an Alabama fan masquerading as an Auburn fan and spamming prospects with annoying tweets, but inconspicuously enough that the recruit really believes it's an Auburn fan.
Bottom line, tweeting at recruits can backfire if you're not careful about it. Some love the attention, but some are really creeped out, annoyed, or turned off by it.
