First and second years. Both of those squads were below .500, with a 2-6 conference record in his second year.
However, some of us could see small improvements in the program.
Last year, and in very little recruiting time, Odom picked up impact players and assembled a staff, hiring an OL coach that most on here weren't impressed with that helped turn around the worst performing unit on the team. Heupel did good things as well. Of course, Cross, and Shipp didn't get the job done. To his credit, Odom ended the read-and-react experiment before the end of the year.
Bottom line, we're gonna have growing pains. I think this last year Odom learned a few things that will help us going forward and his recruiting already seems solid.
