'settled science'. Only someone ignorant of how science works would ever make that silly claim.

We have had a pretty solid grasp of gravity for several centuries. It is currently a hot topic in physics. Is gravity what we always thought it was. If something as mundane and well understood as gravity can still be looked at with a skeptical eye then we sure as heII can look at something as poorly understood as climate with an open mind.
