My definition and understanding of, alternative facts.

I have no intention of speaking for anyone else, I don't know how Kellyanne Conway meant it, or how the press corpse is torturing the administration with it. But to me, it is perfectly logical and understandable, to have alternative facts.

Like this.

The unemployment rate is 4.7%.
That is a fact. It is also a fact that the real unemployment is about 10%. That is also a fact.

It is a fact that there are more people out of the labor force them at any time since the 1970s. It's a fact.

So alternative facts are not lies, they are facts of equal weight but different significance. Perfectly feasible for facts and alternative facts to coexist in the same space.

Or the same sentence.

I recall the story of a Soviet headline saying that in a race, the Russian came in second and the American finished next to last. Those are facts. They are accurate and undeniable.

It is also true, that it was a two-man race. Won by the American. The Soviet runner did in fact come in second, and the American did in fact come in next to last.

Alternative facts.
