Are you that buyist - or just naive?
CNN reported that there was an investigation (which there was & the existence of that investigation was certainly newsworthy.) CNN suppressed the details of that investigation - which they were no doubt aware of.
CNN actually distanced itself from the buzzfeed story:

Their reporting on the Nancy Sinatra "story" was factual. Her tweets are documented.
