So, I'm getting ready to check out of my hotel in DC this morning. I was staying at the Homewood Suites in the Navy Yard area, right down the street from the Washington National's Ball Park (and right across the street from a Metro station - DC has a great Metro system).
So I come down to the 2nd floor, they have a nice breakfast buffet set up, and they have a flat screen TV in the room. Nothing is on it. I ask the only gentleman in the room if he minds if I put on Fox News since nothing is on and he tells me "No, go ahead".
So I'm sitting there eating my breakfast watching Fox News and the TV control is on my table (oh yeah, my "Make America Great Again" cap is sitting on the table too).
A bunch of women walk in to have breakfast (later find out they're all in town for the Gal's March). They don't seem to be in a great mood but no concern of mine so I go on eating my breakfast and watching Fox.
Finally, one of the gals comes over and says to me "We don't like Fox News, do you mind if we turn on CNN".
I reply "I love Fox News".....she says "That figures" and walks away.
(Quick side note - I probably stay at 150 hotels a year as part of my job. There have been numerous times I've walked into the eating area in the morning - CNN is on - and I quietly eat my breakfast and watch what's on. I would never dream of asking someone if they minded if I changed it because I hate CNN. Quite honestly, I figure I can always learn something by seeing where the other side is coming from.)
But I digress.
I finish my breakfast, walk over to the gal with the remote and say to her "Here you go - it's all yours".
I got a gruff response (don't remember exactly what she said - just kind of grunted at me) and then they turned on CNN.
I'd like to say "and lived happily ever after" but they seemed just as angry after they turned on CNN as they were before.
I know these are probably Mr. Orange's kind of women.
But I can promise you, no matter how many gals they had there today for their march, we had much more fun on Friday at the inauguration then they had today (The Bikers for Trump were a hoot!). These women were so miserable & unhappy women today that I almost felt sorry for them.
And as a side note, with the Hollywood types all attending, they just don't get it that the majority of Americans just don't care about their liberal politics.
"Stick to your craft and stop dictating to us" was the message from the last election.
And one last thought - do you remember what poor losers the Republicans were after the last two elections and how they protested and cried and whined and burned cars and busted windows. You don't? My goodness, I don't either - because you find out the true mettle of a person when they lose versus when they win - and the Repubs suffered in silence waiting for the next election - while the dems are showing their true colors.
I promise - my last post about this weekend in DC.
