Lincoln transformed These United States of America into The United States of America and ensured the future would be filled with "The Federal Government is the most important and all-powerful entity followed by states and then people" thinkers like yourself.
He paved the way for folks like you to believe rights can and should be suspended when the Federal Executive deems it necessary.
He made it nice and easy for federal taxation of income to be revisited and then ultimately permanently hung on every future citizen.
In short, he's the guy you should first think of and ***** about every morning when you whine about Demlibs and Federal overreach.
Most importantly, I personally believe Lincoln created the Cult of Historical Personality now surrounding the role of POTUS giving it almost Caesar-like powers and image, the last thing it should ever be given.
"he saved the country" and "he freed the slaves" will go down in real history as the two biggest levers ever used by tyrants and federalists.
