They don't have a good track record of qualifying and contributing for 3-4 years. Their recruitment is often full of drama with little reward.
History tells us there is a decent chance Thomas doesn't make it to a D1 college campus next year. Doesn't mean he won't. I hope he does. But it's not unfair to speculate about whether a kid from ESL will qualify. It's common sense.
