was to follow that agenda? He was referring to those who would lead his Church. If every person adopted that approach Christianity would have lasted one generation. If everyone leaves their family to serve God where do future Christians come from?

If every Christian were to set aside their worldly goods how would charity sustain itself? I know this disturbs your delicate sensibilities but the world has always had both rich and poor. Jesus was not suggesting that everyone become poor. He was suggesting that those with means help those of lesser means. Christian charities and Christian supported charities in the US are amongst the best at doing just that.
