Our linebackers weren't "pretty bad." Newsom and Scherer in particular are very good linebackers.
Scheme changes killed us. When defensive players have to think before reacting, they're already too late. Add in missed tackles and you have bad performance. That is all coaching, not players.
Odom needs to get a rein on his defense and I think he knows it. If he doesn't, he won't be head coach for very long.
