Tell us how the pitching looks in February...

That's going to be the key to the season. We could be anywhere from a top 20 team to an NCAA bubble team depending on how the pitching is.
I think some people are going to be unpleasantly surprised to see where Mizzou softball is ranked at the start of the season. Consider this: last year, returning Finucane and Lowary on the mound after very good sophomore and freshmen seasons, and with the trio of Gadbois, Fagan, and Crane back for their senior seasons, we were only ranked 15th or 16th in the first poll, I believe. There is just so much competition within the top 25-30 teams, and I think Mizzou for whatever reason has lost some national respect.
If that's all we were ranked in 2016, what's it going to be like with 3 of the best hitters in Mizzou history gone and a totally uncertain pitching situation? In softball one really great pitcher can make you a top 25 team. We honestly don't know what we have in terms of pitching this year. It would not shock me to see Mizzou not even ranked in the first poll that comes out in a few weeks.
