This is the case for 3 factors AND why schools like Mizzou find so many of these kids:
1. Large recruiting services do much of their recruiting like AAU Basketball. They host their own events and the elite award winning kids come to them.

2. Recruiting services follow those kids who most happen to be at large schools where they then may see their competition to discover other kids.

3. If a kid is poor and doesn't pay to go to the recruiting events and plays at a small school he will not get much exposure and is guaranteed to get slapped with a 2star rating UNTIL P5 teams start offering which gets the recruiting services alerted to the player who then will bump him up accordingly. It is not an accident that schools like Mizzou start to pounce on these kids with 2 weeks left. We don't just strike out on big kids, we intentionally show play these diamonds so that the local P5 schools fill up and we are clearly their best option. That's how teams like us have to play the game and it's why we always have 1-3 kids a class that others say, "How in the heck did they get that guy?"
