The missouri men's basketball team is exactly that: the young men out there playing.
If basketball talent is in essence the ability to make the ball go in the hoop, we don't have basketball talent, at least at this stage of these players' career.
It's the coaches job to recruit and obtain talent for the basketball team. No question about that. But none of our recruiting misses were because of some intangible shortcoming of KA or his staff. No coach would have got sneed, cook, blakeney or Bryant to mizzou in light of our losing, NCAA investigation, campus racial stupidity, and whiny fanbase that is always calling for a coaching change. The current staff got the best recruits mizzou could field in light of current circumstances.
A new coach may have some immediate success because he will be inheriting an experienced roster. And hopefully he can use that as a springboard to attract better talent in the future. But we are witnessing the mess that Mizzou made, not Kim Anderson. He was the only one willing to fall on this grenade.
