1) The 2010 case involved a US soldier stealing highly classified information from a highly secured server and Wikileaks publishing it. I agree that that case could have warranted the death penalty for PVT Manning.
2) The 2016 case involved releasing embarrassing (and unclassified) information that had been hacked from private citizens using a non-governmental server.
